29.05.2011: A shift in the sacristy

As some of you might have recognized on the new pics, Tom Diener is no longer part of the pack. We decided to part ways already in December, during the songwriting process for "Blood of the saints". The wolves would like to thank him for a great time and bless him for his future.

However, the holy drumseat is not vacant any longer: For upcoming crusades the pack welcomes Mr. Roel van Helden, the probably most hard hitting drum-reverent from the Netherlands known to man, who also performed the beats of blasphemy on "Blood of the saints".

03.04.2011: Work on the upcoming album completed

Halelujah, it´s done! After countless days of struggle we have finally finished the work on the upcoming album. Still hard to believe the recording-crusade has come to an end - but holding the result in hands we feel more than proud and satisfied. We can promise you a goddamn great piece of wolfish metal insanity!" The album will be released in July - right in time for some great live celebrations at the summer festivals

11.03.2011: Wolves confirmed for Summerbreeze

The wolves are confirmed for this year´s Summerbreeze Open Air, taking place in Dinkelsbühl from August 18th to 20th. This will mark our 4th time at this wonderful festival so be sure this will become a great celebration.


08.03.2011: Wolves confirmed for METALCAMP

The Wolves will hold the sermon of steel at this year´s Metalcamp on July 15th. Can´t wait to sanctifiy this wonderful place with wolfish metal.

22.02.2011: Wolves confirmed for Rock Harz Festival

The next festival appearance for this year´s open air season is confirmed: The wolves will preach at Rock Harz festival, taking place from Juli 9th-11th in Ballensted/Harz. Be there for blessings and benedictions.


09.02.2011: Wolves confirmed for Masters of Rock

While we still are working off our claws and fangs in the studio, the first festival shows for 2011 are getting confirmed: First up we can announce that the wolves are confirmed for this year´s Masters of Rock festival in Czech Republic. We had a great time in Czech Republic last year at the Metalfest Open air and can´t wait to get back ever since, so we´re looking forward to returning.


01.01.2011: WOLVES IN THE STUDIO

The wolves have started with the recordings of the upcoming album. The recordings are taking place in different studios and locations during January and February. To let you all participate in the madness between catharsis and celebration, we will post some notes, pictures and videos from the studio every now and then on our official facebook site.


23.10.2010: NEW ALBUM IN THE MAKING

The wolves are currently busy writing the follow up album to "Bible of the beast". We spent the last three months in the rehersal room working out stuff for the new album. Even though it´s still in the making we can already promise the songs are 100% Powerwolf, taking off where "Bible of the beast" ended - there´s furious stuff, there´s epic stuff - and all of it is catchy as hell.
For the production we´re going to team up with exactly the same crew as for "Bible of the beast": Kohlekeller Studios for the recordings, any chapel we can haunt for organ and choir celebrations - and of course Studio Fredman and Fredric Nordström for mix.
The pack will invade studio in December and the recording process will last until February. Expect a tentative release midyear 2011. More details and updates will follow as we find a minute to draw a few lines.





14.09.2010: Thank you Bloodstock!

Bloodstock was a goddamn blast. Came to England for the first time, expected nothing and had a great metal mass! Thanx for welcoming the wolves with such a celebration - all we can say is: The pack will be back in the UK as soon as possbile. Amen!

02.06.2010: WOLVES CONFIRMED TO HEADLINE 2ND STAGE AT UK's BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR

The wolves have just been confirmed to perform at UK's Bloodsock Open Air, taking place in Derby/England. We will have the honour to headline the 2nd stage on Friday 13th of August. "It's a big honour for us to celebrate the metal mass at this legendary festival" comments Matthew Greywolf. "This will be our first time in the UK, and getting the chance to perform at the country's biggest Metal festvial is incredible. We can't wait to unleash mayhem there!"

29.05.2010: Thank you for great Metalfest-Open-Airs

We just came back from the Metalfest Open Air tour and want to drop a few lines to say THANX YOU! It was a goddamn blast! We never expected such unbelievable great response even in countries the wolf has never been before - the pack already can't wait to get back for more! Stay tuned for a tour diary and galeries coming up very soon.

10.05.2010: Metal Hammer Awards

The wolves have been nominated for the "Metal Hammer Awards 2010". "Raise your fist, Evangelist" is listed among the songs competing as "Metal Anthem 2010". "It´s a great honour for us to be nominated by the scene´s most important magazine. I´m speechless." comments Attila. "We´re just about to leave for the Metal fest tour, and with this great news in mind we will enter the tourbus highly motivated to unleash some serious mayhem during the upcoming two weeks" adds Falk Maria Schlegel. So wolfmaniacs in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary: Be there to raise your fists with the wolf!




 

24.02.2010: Changes in the church

Stefane Funebre will have to focus on his increasing religious duties in the future and will therefore no longer be able to join the wolves on their crusade. Funebre will however remain a part of the pack for life and will keep supporting us with his spiritual and mental guidance behind the scenes. As the new member of the wolfpack we welcome Tom Diener, who will take place on the holy drumseat in the future. Tom already toured with us as temporary replacement for Funebre during the last 12 months and in the meantime has become a true member of the pack and a master of the ceremony. Be sure he will unleash some great metal madness with us in the future.

For all those unlucky ones who didn´t get a copy of the limited edition of "Bible of the best" featuring the bonus DVD with the wolves´2008 show at Wacken Open air: There´s an official documentary DVD about the 2008 edition of the W:O:A out now, featuring the wolves´celebration of "Saturday Satan".


23.11.2009: A Tribute and a tour:

Time for some news: First of all, the wolves have celebrated a mass in the studio a while ago to pay tribute to the recently disbanded metal legend Running wild. So set your sails and listen to Powerwolf´s unholy version of "Riding the storm" on the official tribute album "ReUnation - A tribute to Running wild", which had just been released.

Furthermore great news for all believers waiting for more live celebrations: Powerwolf have just been cofirmed for the 2010 edition of the Metalfest Open Air tour 2010 - five shows, five countries and probably 5000 miles to kill - here´s where the masses will take place:

24.08.2009: New Blood

As some of you might have noticed there´s new blood in the metal mass: As Stefane Funebre has to take a temporary break from his wolfish duties due to personal reasons, we have the honour to present the mighty Tom Diener behind the drumset on current live celebrations. Tom prooved to be a wolf from the heart and a furious beast behind his drums, so be sure he delivers the pulse for the metal masses to come with passion and class.

Next week the Wolves will celebrate the liturgy of metal at Summerbreeze Open air. To make sure that all believers attend the mass, here´s some deail information: The Wolves will have the honour enter the Tentstage on Wednesday, 12th at 00:15 - be there. Further on there will be a signing session on Thurday 13th, 15.00 presented by metal.de - so come there for individual blessings and prayers.

"Bible of the beast" is out since today - that means: if you want to make sure to the limited edition double-digipack: be quick or be sad!

April 16, 2009: THE HOLY TRINITY OF NEWS

I. With the release of "Bible of the beast" drawing near there´s lot of news. First of all: there´s a 2nd song from "Bible of the beast" online on our myspace-site to shorten the wait until you can grab the whole bible at your trusted record dealer on April 24th.

II. There´s a new shirt design in the online shop. Make sure to be dressed in the name of metal everybody.

III. And to complete the holy trinity of news: there´s a new show confirmed. The wolves will join swedish metal kings Hammerfall on their show in Antwerp (Belgium) on April 22nd.

As we just came back from Sweden with the final mix of the album in hands, we think it´stime to reveal some more information about the new opus: it will be entitled "BIBLE OFTHE BEAST", and be released on April 24th.
